Kind Words

Your kind words mean the world to us, and we’re so thankful that you’ve taken the time to provide us with feedback.

I was beyond heartbroken when I was told my little buddy Mac had lymphoma. I did not want to put him through anything that would decrease his quality of life so I was hesitant to consider chemotherapy. The amazing team at Hope Oncology explained everything in detail and answered all of my questions. Additionally, because of the rapid progression of lymphoma, they prioritized his treatment and got him in quickly. I can’t speak highly enough about this knowledgeable, empathetic, and special team. It is difficult enough to receive news like this about your fur baby, but having a group like this on your side, giving your pet the best chance is incredibly comforting.

“Hope Veterinary Oncology was recommended to us by our veterinarian after our dog, Piper, suddenly became ill. She would not eat or drink and was rapidly declining. After her first treatment for lymphoma, Piper responded quickly, felt great again, and was back to being her old happy, puppy-brained self, eating like a champion, running like the wind, dropping and rolling for belly-rubs, and playing roughhouse with our other dog, Arlo. Dr. Rizzo and her entire team have continued Piper’s treatment for a couple of months now and so far she continues to tolerate the chemotherapy just fine and feels great. Hope Oncology has extended our quality time with Piper and that means the world to us. Everyone at this clinic team has been kind, knowledgeable and efficient. Additionally, they have been honest and communicate well, which we appreciate. We know that our beloved dog has a challenge still ahead of her, but we feel that we could not be in better hands as we navigate this journey together. We are grateful and highly recommend this aptly-named excellent team of cancer-fighting specialists. Gratefully,”

“Last year, our beloved Bernese Mountain dog, Dexter, was diagnosed with lymphoma. We were at a loss, not knowing what course to take. As an oncology nurse, I had experienced firsthand patients living through their chemotherapy journey with awful side effects that undermined their quality of life. Would we want that for Dexter? To say that it was a miracle that we found Dr. Rizzo and her team would be an understatement. We had called countless oncologists when Dexter was first diagnosed. Most did not return our call. Those who called us back informed us that it would be weeks before our Dexter could be seen. Dr. Rizzo not only called us back but took the time to answer all of our questions so that we could make an informed decision. She offered us a zoom appointment to get to know her and discuss Dexter’s treatment plan. She was so calming as she addressed our anxiety and stress. Every step of the way, Dr. Rizzo and her staff have treated us with kindness, compassion, patience, and humility. When Dexter’s anxiety became too great to come to the clinic, Dr. Rizzo and her wonderful team came to our house and gave Dexter chemotherapy at his favorite spot of the house, with his favorite ducky by his side. Soft music was played in the background. Dr. Rizzo and her team were petting Dexter, giving him encouraging words of praise, with me sitting next to his head. Dexter was so relaxed; I doubt he knew he was getting chemotherapy. I was struck by the loving vibe permeating the entire room. After it was all done, Dexter got up with a smile on his face. I took a picture of him. I wish I could share this picture with everyone in the world. We love our Dexter very much. We don’t know how long we will have him with us. What I do know is that I trust Dr. Rizzo and her staff completely to journey with us through this challenge. We could not have asked for a better oncologist and team.”
